Submit supporting documents promptly, Telangana CEO urges voters

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy said around 60 per cent of the 92.87 lakh voter-related notices have been distributed across the State and urged recipients to submit the required documents.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy said about 60 percent out of 92.87 lakh notices related to electors have already been distributed across the State. He asked voters who received the notices to submit required supporting documents as mentioned in them.

Reddy on Friday reviewed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process for electoral rolls in the Tandur Assembly constituency of Vikarabad district. He examined the voter registration process being handled by BLOs, including the distribution of notices and collection of supporting documents.

The Telangana CEO said the inspection was conducted to understand the issues being faced at the field level in connection with the SIR notices already issued, assess how BLOs were carrying out their duties, and find out whether voters were facing any difficulties. He instructed BLOs to ensure that voter registration is carried out properly without causing any inconvenience to voters.

Urging every eligible citizen to register to vote, Reddy said individuals could apply online or complete the registration process with the help of BLOs in their respective areas.
