Medak: Unseasonal rains coupled with gusty winds lashed Medak town and neighbouring mandals on Monday evening. Several low-lying areas were inundated due to the sudden downpour. In rural parts of the district, paddy brought to procurement centres was damaged due to the sudden rain.
Electric poles and trees were uprooted at several places due to strong winds. Traffic was disrupted at several places in the town. There was disruption in power supply too as power lines snapped due to heavy winds. Transco officials were working to restore power.
