‘The Bad Batch’ actor was called a “nobody” in the third episode of the first season.
Suki Waterhouse is extremely upset about the joke on her and boyfriend Robert Pattinson in the new ‘Gossip Girl’ revival series. ‘The Bad Batch’ actor was called a “nobody” in the third episode of the first season.
The line was uttered when Zion Moreno’s character Luna was trying to help Whitney Peak’s character Zoya with her PR skills, telling her she needed to increase her presence on social media to be a viable romantic interest for Eli Brown’s Obie.
“When are you going to get it? As far as the press is concerned, he’s R-Patz and you’re Suki Nobody,” Luna said, as per ‘Just Jared’.
Suki took to her Twitter handle to share how she felt about the joke. “Another day to be reminded that women can also be the patriarchy. Seeing critiques of patriarchy and sexism, then I get name checked as somebody’s ‘nobody’ girlfriend. Make it make sense!” Suki tweeted, tagging the episode’s writer Lila Feinberg.
However, the actor later deleted her tweets. Earlier, even Taylor Swift had called out Netflix for a “deeply sexist joke”. The singer was referenced in the streaming platform’s show ‘Ginny and Georgia’. “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift,” was a dialogue on the show.
Suki began dating ‘The Batman’ star Robert Pattinson back in 2018 after he called off his engagement to singer FKA Twigs. Prior to Twigs, Pattinson famously dated his co-star in the ‘Twilight’ series Kristen Stewart. Meanwhile, Suki previously dated singer Miles Kane, actor Bradley Cooper and actor Diego Luna.
