Sunitha Lakshma Reddy walks 14 km to protest delay in road works
Narsapur MLA V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy walked 14 km from Veldurthy to Pilli Kotalla as part of a padayatra highlighting the delay in laying a road. She alleged that the Congress government suspended Rs 18 crore sanctioned earlier by the BRS government.
Medak: Narsapur MLA V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, who launched a padayatra to expose the Congress government’s inordinate delay in laying the road, walked 14 km from Veldurthy to Pilli Kotalla, where the Medak Collectorate is located. Even though the BRS government had granted Rs 18 crore to lay the road, the Narsapur MLA said that the Congress government had suspended the grants after coming to power.
Even after repeated appeals from locals, she said that the government should grant the funds and take up the work. The MLA said that she decided to bring the issue to the notice of Collector Prathima Singh and other officials by walking along the entire stretch. Many BRS workers and farmers joined her and greeted her. Sunitha completed the padayatra in five hours.
