Chennai: Actor Suriya announced his latest Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ in Hindi. The remake will be directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad who also directed the Tamil original.
The Hindi film will be produced by Suriya, Jyothika, Rajsekar Pandian and Abundantia Entertainment. The announcement was confirmed by film critic Taran Aadarsh on his social media platforms.
Taran Adarsh on Instagram: “SURIYA TO REMAKE ‘SOORARAI POTTRU’ IN #HINDI… The much-loved #Tamil film #SooraraiPottru to get a #Hindi remake… #Suriya, #Jyothika…”
However, the fans and audience didn’t seem much pleased about the announcement.
“Why to remake when u already dubbed it in Hindi and most of the Hindi audience have already seen it. Just a waste. Hope this doesn’t get ruined(sic),” one commented.
“Not interested, the Hindi version of the original is available on Amazon prime video,” another Instagram user wrote.
The cast of the film is not yet disclosed. Some fans also guess that the film could fall in actor Akshay Kumar’s basket.
The original Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ revolved around a young man who dreams of launching his own airline service. The film was also dubbed in Telugu titled as ‘Aakasam Nee Haddhu Ra’. The film was released on Amazon Prime in November 2020.
