Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao urged the BRS cadre to work collectively and intensify their campaign as surveys were indicating the party’s likely victory in 18 out of 31 zilla parishads.
Addressing an extended party cadre meeting in Gajwel on Monday, Harish Rao said the focus must be on winning a majority of ZPTC and MPP seats in Siddipet district by working extensively across its 26 mandals.
He called upon party workers to take the failures of the Congress government to the people.
Accusing the Congress of spreading false propaganda, Harish Rao said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was claiming to have filled 60,000 posts, though only 12,000 recruitments had been done so far.
He said the Congress government had failed to keep its pre-poll promises, including the assurance of providing two lakh jobs in a year.
He recalled that the BRS government under K Chandrashekhar Rao had recruited 1.68 lakh people into various government departments.
The Congress, he said, failed to support farmers by not ensuring timely distribution of urea, loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa payments, or other benefits.
The former minister also accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of delaying the payment of bonus for fine rice, with Rs. 1,200 crore still pending. He said the State government had not released any grants to gram panchayats either.
Harish Rao further pointed out that the Congress had failed to increase pensions and had denied the Rs. 2,500 benefit promised to every woman. He alleged that the government was deliberately denying funds to Siddipet district in particular.
