Suryapet: District Collector Tejas Nand Lal Pawar on Thursday suspended four Revenue Department employees after finding them absent from duty during a surprise inspection at the Munagala Tahsildar office.
The Collector visited the office around 11 a.m. without prior intimation and was reportedly surprised to see that more than half of the staff had not reported for work.
Taken aback, Pawar questioned Tahsildar K Venkateshwarlu about the staff’s lack of discipline. “Do the staff in your office not follow any time discipline?” he asked, according to officials present.
He immediately ordered the suspension of Deputy Tahsildar A Rajesh, Section Officer (MPSO) P Suresh, Junior Assistant Md Ismail, and Record Assistant Sk Mubeen, all of whom were absent without prior intimation.
The Collector also directed the Tahsildar to submit a detailed report on the lapses and seized the office attendance register for review.
