Suryapet: Air Marshal and Deputy Director General of National Credit Crops (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) TSS Krishnan on Thursday said that the support extended by the Telangana government to the family of slain Col Bikumalla Santhosh Babu was an inspiration for the entire country.
Under the supervision of Krishnan, NCC cadets of 31st Battalion cleaned the statue of Galwan hero Col Santhosh Babu here and paid rich tributes to him. They also observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to Santhosh Babu who laid down his life fighting the Chinese forces in Galwan valley on June 15, 2020.
Krishnan said youth should join the army and play crucial role in protection of the country. “The sacrifice made by Santhosh Babu will inspire the youth to join the Indian army. The commitment of Telangana government in supporting the family of Col Santhosh babu will remain in the hearts of armymen forever,” he said, adding that the State government had also extended financial help to families of other soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Galwan incident.
Santhosh Babu’s father Upender said he was proud that his son sacrificed his life for the protection of the country.
There was an air of nationalism at Col Santhosh Kumar Chowrastha when college students sang patriotic songs.
