Hyderabad: The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) on Monday condemned the reported denial of legitimate stipends and the alleged lack of basic infrastructure at Dr Patnam Mahender Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Chevella, which has compelled MD/MS postgraduate resident doctors to resort to a peaceful protest for their rightful entitlements.
“It is unfortunate that postgraduate resident doctors, who dedicate themselves tirelessly to patient care, emergency services, academics, and the functioning of teaching hospitals, are being forced to fight for basic necessities that should have been ensured by the institution as a matter of responsibility and accountability,” T-JUDA said.
“A stipend is not a privilege or an act of generosity; it is the rightful remuneration for the invaluable services rendered by resident doctors. Any delay or denial of stipends places an unnecessary financial and psychological burden on young doctors who work relentlessly in the service of patients,” T-JUDA added.
