In a tragic incident, 12-year-old Kasturi Nivruthi, died of cardiac arrest at Padmanagar Colony in Chennur town on Friday.

Victim's sister raised an alarm, but he breathed his last while being shifted to a hospital.

Earlier, there were reports that he was attacked by his mother, who was reportedly in an inebriated condition, but subsequently in his statement given at the hospital on Tuesday, he told the police they were self-inflicted injuries.
