Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale appreciated the initiatives being taken up Telangana Government for Dalit empowerment and assured of all support from the Central Government in future endeavours.

The Chief Minister said the entire Dalit community was suffering not only from poverty but also from social discrimination for generations together.

The programme has an outlay of Rs 1000 crore which is over and above the funds earmarked for Scheduled Castes welfare and development under SCSDF.

Effective implementation key for success of Dalit Bandhu scheme

Chandrashekhar Rao sought suggestions from all the political parties on the action needed to be taken to empower the Dalit community and instill confidence in them to progress.
