The Telangana High Court on Thursday expressed concern over the delay in renewing accreditation cards for working journalists, noting that the issue was affecting scribes across the State. The Bench questioned the government’s approach of seeking details only from petitioners, stressing that the matter concerned the entire accredited journalist community.
The Telangana High Court has directed the State Government to file its counter affidavit within three weeks in a case challenging the Telangana Media Accreditation Rules, 2025. The petition, filed by the Hi-Tech Print and Electronic Media Association, questions the legality of G.O.Ms.No.252 issued in December 2025.
Journalists across Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts staged protests demanding the withdrawal of government order 252 on accreditation cards. They submitted representations to district Collectors, arguing that the order undermines their identity and self-respect.
