Shashi Tharoor rejected speculation of leaving the Congress after criticism over his presence at President Putin’s state banquet. While AICC leaders expressed displeasure, Tharoor said he attended in his official capacity and remains focused on serving his constituency.
There is widespread speculation in Gandhi Bhavan that the high command is actively considering a cabinet reshuffle. It is reported that AICC leaders recently visited New Delhi and sought feedback from several senior leaders regarding the performance of certain Ministers.
He is likely to stay in New Delhi for two days. During his visit, he is expected to meet the AICC leaders and discuss a few issues, including Cabinet expansion and the appointment of the new Pradesh Congress Committee president and others.
