A mentally unstable pregnant woman from a tribal background in Kothagudem district was rescued by the Khammam-based Annam Foundation after orphanages refused her admission. She delivered a healthy baby boy at Khammam Government Hospital on August 30. Both mother and child are safe.

A 25-year-old youth from Jungle Imiliha village of Rudrapur tehsil of Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh, Pannalal Yadav who was in a poor health condition was rescued by the Annam Foundation in 2017. He was looked after by the foundation founder Annam Srinivasa Rao.

They have been performing last rites of unattended bodies, including those who died due to Covid, along with the others.

Thanks to the efforts of the foundation’s founder and para-legal volunteer, Annam Srinivasa Rao, the woman had a tearful reunion with her family at the very place where she lived a wretched life for nearly a decade

Srinivas Rao performed the last rites of around 500 Covid victims, also helped transport bodies to native places
