Residents allege that some massage centres in Hyderabad’s prime areas are operating as brothels, causing discomfort to office workers and women. Police say action is taken when complaints are received and have urged citizens to report illegal activities.
Hyderabad police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit raided a body massage parlour in S.R. Nagar on Saturday. Two women were rescued, and a manager along with a customer were apprehended. All four were handed over to the local police for investigation.
Additional Director General Police, Railways and Road Safety, Mahesh M Bhagwat who was the chief guest in the workshop, said that a large number of children access the rail network to reach cities in the hope of a better life.
As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data released recently, Telangana Police registered 391 cases in 2022 and rescued 704 persons, including 666 women and girls.
