Acting on a tip-off, separate teams of security forces unearthed Maoist dumps on a forested hill of Markanguda village near Duled security camp and in a forest near a new camp at Mettaguda village
The encounter started in a forest along the border of Sukma and Bijapur districts when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation
Narayana Rao, has been underground for over four decades and is a close relative of another top most naxal leader, Muppala Lakshmana Rao, who was the general secretary of the CPI (Maoist). Lakshmana Rao also hails from Birpur village.
The security personnel were ambushed by naxals when they were out on a combing operation in a forest along the border of the Bijapur and Sukma districts of the state.
