Chief General Manager Om Prakash Mishra met Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and handed over a cheque for that amount.

Students spoke on the importance of this day and the sacrifices made by the armed forces personnel in protecting and safeguarding the country.

"Armed Forces Flag Day is a day to express gratitude to our armed forces and their families. India is proud of their heroic service and selfless sacrifice," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
