The tiger population in Amrabad Tiger Reserve rose from 33 to 36, including a spike in breeding females. The findings follow Phase IV monitoring by the Forest Department and reflect the success of Project Tiger and ongoing conservation efforts
Now, the R&B department is planning to construct an elevated corridor on the route to facilitate smooth flow of traffic. The elevated corridor is being proposed from Brahmanpally to Domalpenta covering about 42 km.
All through the exercise, images of leopards, antelopes and other wild animals were recorded, but of no tiger, much to the disappointment of trackers, the official said.
These sightings will now help the forest officials to initiate more measures and create the required ecology for increasing the population of such species in ATR.
