About 10 lakh bank employees and officers are to participate in the strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions, an umbrella body of nine associations and groups.
"Launch of DakPay adds up to the legacy of India Post, which is about reaching out to every household," Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said while launching the app.
Bank employees affiliated to All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) are supporting the strike.
