Former Minister T Harish Rao gifted cots worth Rs 6 lakh to students of BC Residential School, Thadkapally, fulfilling a promise made during his recent visit. Students and staff expressed gratitude for the gesture, which included prior T-shirt distribution.
Over 50 students from the BC Hostel in Dharmavaram, Gadwal district, were hospitalised after suspected food poisoning on Friday night. Students reportedly fell ill after dinner, prompting criticism over the government’s monitoring of food quality in hostels.
According to reports, on Sunday night, the degree student identified as Venkat (19) reportedly asked a few intermediate students not to make noise in the hostel and study silently.
