Journalist and MLC Chintapandu Naveen, alias Teenmaar Mallanna, was placed under house arrest in Hyderabad ahead of the final rites of BC activist Sai Eshwar Chari, who died by self-immolation over reservation demands. The move has drawn sharp criticism from BC leaders.
