The Telangana High Court has reserved judgment on writ petitions challenging the Speaker’s ruling that Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender had not defected from the BRS despite contesting the Lok Sabha polls on a Congress ticket.
The Telangana High Court on Wednesday continued hearing petitions filed by BRS and BJP leaders challenging the Speaker’s decision to reject disqualification pleas against 10 BRS MLAs accused of defecting to the Congress. Petitioners argued that contesting elections on another party’s ticket amounts to voluntarily giving up membership under the Tenth Schedule.

BRS supporter Nayini Anurag Reddy took to X to share a government order issued on February 4, revealing that the Law Department allocated Rs 22 lakh as fees for senior advocate Ravindra Shrivastava for his appearance and conference on November 5 and 6. Shrivastava represented the State's interests in the Telangana High Court on behalf of the Law Department Secretary.
