Hyderabad: The Congress government has spent a whopping Rs 22 lakh for just two days by hiring a Supreme Court senior advocate to represent the Law department in the BRS MLAs disqualification petition in the Telangana High Court.

BRS supporter Nayini Anurag Reddy took to X and shared the government order issued on February 4 this year, where the Law department released Rs 22 lakh towards fee for senior advocate Ravindra Shrivastava for appearance and conference on November 5 and 6. He appeared in the Telangana High Court to defend the interest of the State on behalf of the Secretary for Law department.

“If Rs 22 lakh in 2 days, how many crores to cover up Congress’ hypocrisy? Imagine how many crores of public money are being wasted on this,” Anurag Reddy posted.

He reminded that while the Congress manifesto promises to make defection an automatic disqualification from Assembly/Parliament membership, its government in Telangana spent Rs 22 lakh of public money on an advocate to defend disqualification of 10 BRS MLAs who joined the Congress.
