The BRS launched a padayatra from Annapurna Sagar to Ranganayaka Sagar in Siddipet, accusing the Congress government of failing to fill reservoirs under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. The party said declining water levels threaten paddy cultivation and announced more protests.
BRS alleged that the Congress government acted on the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme only after the party announced a padayatra. Former Minister S Niranjan Reddy accused the government of delaying works and increasing project costs through negligence.

Former Deputy CM T Rajaiah was placed under house arrest in Hanamkonda on Monday, hours before his padayatra for farmers’ irrigation demands. BRS leaders condemned the Congress government, calling the move undemocratic, while Rajaiah vowed to continue his agitation.
