A Pakistan accountability court sentenced former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to 17 years’ imprisonment each in the Toshakhana-II corruption case over alleged misuse of state gifts.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohaib Afridi alleged that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are facing mistreatment in Adiala Jail, citing lack of basic necessities and harsh treatment. Afridi condemned the use of water cannons on Khan’s sisters and criticised repeated denial of meeting requests
Imran, the former Prime Minister who was removed from power in April 2022, and his wife have denied all charges in the case registered by Bushra's former husband, Khawar Maneka, last month, The News reported.
