Nirmal police arrested seven members of an inter-state gang accused of stealing cattle by using anaesthesia and selling them to Maharashtra slaughterhouses. Vehicles, cash, and mobile phones were seized. The gang’s kingpin admitted forming it to make quick money.
A senior police official said that Jasim Mia was killed by the BSF troopers in the wee hours on Monday at Debipur village under Belonia sub-division in southern Tripura.
