Bird flu is a major global threat, with a devastating impact in both farmed and wild bird populations.

For International Respect for Chickens Day on May 4, PETA rolled out a campaign targeting college students.

These bird flu cases have been detected since mid-November last year in northern and southern Israel, especially in the last three weeks.

The operation was launched a day after results of the samples tested at the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases in Bhopal confirmed the outbreak of the bird flu in the two districts.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Kotaro Nogami informed Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga of the outbreak on Thursday, Xinhua news agency reported.
