The BRS government had granted administrative approval to upgrade the 20-bed hospital to a 100-bed facility, with an allocation of Rs 29 crore. However, construction has been stalled, and the hospital is still functioning with only four out of the 16 sanctioned doctors. Despite assurances from ministers that civil works would be completed promptly, the ongoing delay has left the local community frustrated.
Speaking to the media, they said that at least four contractors lost their lives due to heart attacks in the last year and said they are making these demands now as there were impressive collections under the Early Bird Scheme.
