Manjula, originally from Budharaupeta village in Khanapur mandal of Warangal district, was involved in five firefights between 1995 and 2019. Her two brothers, former members of the CPI-Maoist, were killed in encounters years ago. Following their deaths, she dropped out of school and joined the CPI(ML) People’s War Group, Narsampeta Dal, in 1994.
