The custodial death of Karle Rajesh, a Dalit youth from Telangana, has triggered political controversy. His family and MRPS leaders allege that police illegally detained and tortured him for five days to implicate former BRS MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav in a Chief Minister’s Relief Fund irregularities case.

Despite a rowdy sheet being opened against him in 2022, Mallesh reportedly continued to harass the woman.

The boy committed suicide after hearing about the incident.

The matter came to light when a video clip went viral showing the barber turning away the youth for the caste he belonged to.
