Delhi Metro fares have been revised for the first time in eight years, with increases of Rs 1–4 across most lines and up to Rs 5 on the Airport Express Line.
The DMRC and Blue Dart have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate urban freight (cargo) services via metro trains, leveraging the metro's infrastructure to streamline cargo movement while reducing road congestion and emissions.
A marginal convenience fee will be applied to transactions made via credit/debit card, while no convenience fee will be charged for UPI-based transactions.
Tremendous efforts were put in by DMRC officials to analyse the measurement data at various speeds to understand the behaviour and response of the system, the officials said.
On Independence day the trains will run with a frequency of 30 minutes on all the Lines till 06.00 am. After 6.00 am, Metro trains will run as per the normal timetable throughout the day.
