FSSAI has issued nine notices to Swiggy Instamart over consumer complaints alleging the supply of expired, spoiled and contaminated food products. The regulator has sought explanations on food safety systems, quality controls and corrective measures, warning of action under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The Maharashtra FDA suspended licences of six eateries, including Mumbai's Flint & Waarsa, after inspections uncovered unhygienic kitchens, expired food, misbranded products and regulatory violations. The statewide drive also led to arrests, seizures of banned items and continued enforcement against food safety breaches
The food safety teams of Commissioner of Food Safety have detected a large number of violations at Shahi Dastarkhan, Badeymiyan Kabab and Khan-E-Khas, all well known Food Business Operators (FBOs) at Lakdikapul area during inspections that were taken-up on Tuesday and Wednesday.
