Food safety teams detect major violations in eateries at Lakdikapul
The food safety teams of Commissioner of Food Safety have detected a large number of violations at Shahi Dastarkhan, Badeymiyan Kabab and Khan-E-Khas, all well known Food Business Operators (FBOs) at Lakdikapul area during inspections that were taken-up on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The food safety teams of Commissioner of Food Safety have detected a large number of violations at Shahi Dastarkhan, Badeymiyan Kabab and Khan-E-Khas, all well known Food Business Operators (FBOs) at Lakdikapul area during inspections that were taken-up on Tuesday and Wednesday.
At Shahi Dastarkhan, the food inspectors found out that the walls were greasy and ceiling found with shedding particles. The flooring was found to be patchy with broken tiles and water stagnation was observed. The Kitchen premises did not have any insect proof screen to avoid entry of pests.
Live cockroach infestation was observed inside first floor kitchen premises. Expired food articles like Mango Masala, Coconut Milk, Keora water were found in store room and hence discarded on the spot. Drain water found stagnated in drains due to accumulation of food waste.
At Khan-E-Khas, the inspecting teams detected lack of pest control records, medical fitness certificates and water analysis reports. The flooring was patchy with tiles broken and water stagnation, the premises was not fitted with insect proof screen to avoid entry of pests, refrigerator found in unhygeinic condition and veg and non-veg articles were stored together.
The fecal matter of rat was observed on shelves, which are used to store raw food materials. There is a possible rat infestation at the Khan-E-Khas premises and the design of the kitchen premises doesn’t provide adequate working space and to carry out proper cleaning process, Food Safety Commissioner said.
At Bademiya Kababs, the food safety teams said that management did not display the copy of the food license at the premises. Cobwebs were observed inside kitchen premises and food articles stores inside the refrigerator were not labelled properly.
There were not records of Pest Control Records, Medical Fitness Certificates and Water analysis reports. Synthetic food colors suspected of being used in kababs and Chinese items were found and discarded. The food handlers were found without wearing hair caps and gloves.
