The TGSRTC strike has severely disrupted bus services across Telangana for the second day, affecting lakhs of commuters. With thousands of buses off the roads, the corporation is losing nearly Rs 15 crore daily while passengers face higher private transport costs.
The fourth person was 26-year-old Samudrala Shiva Prasad. His father, Mondaiah (60), and Mondaiah's wife, Sridevi (50), passed away early Wednesday morning while receiving treatment, while their daughter, Chaitanya (30), died on Tuesday night.
The TGERC has directed Discoms to address major issues such as transmission and distribution losses, outdated infrastructure, and obsolete equipment, sources said. The growing debt burden of the state-run distribution companies has become a significant concern for the state government, which is exploring ways to rescue them from the crisis.
