Bathini Goud family members said a sage shared the ingredients of the fish medicine with their elders about 190 years ago and since then they have been providing it free of charge to lakhs of patients with respiratory issues.

Harinath Goud passed away on Wednesday night in Kavadiguda. He is survived by his wife, Sunitra Devi, along with two daughters and two sons.

After a break of three years due to the covid pandemic, the annual fish prasadam was administered on June 9.
