Fish prasadam distribution for asthma patients on June 8 in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad district administration is preparing for the annual fish prasadam distribution to asthma patients at Nampally exhibition grounds on June 8. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar reviewed arrangements with officials and Bathini family members on Thursday.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad district administration is geared up for the fish prasadam distribution to asthma patients at Nampally exhibition grounds here on June 8.

Hyderabad district in-charge minister and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar held a meeting with Hyderabad Collector Priyanka Ala, members of the Bathini family, and other officials concerned at the Hyderabad Collectorate here on Thursday.

Ponnam Prabhakar said the fish prasadam event, which has been a symbol of trust and faith for 179 years, is a unique feature of Hyderabad city.

He said thousands of devotees and asthma patients from Telangana, various states across the country, and abroad are expected to attend, with an estimated participation of hundreds of thousands this time.

As a large crowd is expected to take fish prasadam, the Minister instructed police to implement strict security measures, traffic control, parking management and crowd control.

He also instructed police to keep special surveillance to prevent incidents like pickpocketing, theft, chain snatching and eve-teasing. Officials concerned were directed to make full lighting arrangements throughout the night in the event area and its surroundings.
