Ongoing underground drainage works at Gandi Maisamma junction have caused severe traffic congestion for months, delaying thousands of commuters. Narrowed roads, rainwater stagnation and heavy vehicle movement have worsened conditions, though authorities say restoration work will soon be completed.
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding car on the Medak–Hyderabad road on Monday morning. The victim died on the spot, while police registered a case and sent the body for postmortem.
Police suspect the victim Akbar Khan (35) had an epileptic seizure while driving after which he lost control of the steering wheel resulting in the accident.
