Lallaguda police arrested five persons for allegedly murdering Burugu Karthik near a Ganesh mandapam in Tukaramgate on Sunday night. Police said the murder was linked to a long-standing grudge over Karthik assisting another man in his love marriage in 2023.
A 33-year-old man, Bharat, died after being electrocuted while trying to remove a banner entangled in a high-tension cable near a Ganesh pandal in Falaknuma. Police have registered a case, and the body was taken for post-mortem
The organisers used brand new cash with denominations of Rs 500, Rs 200 and Rs 100 to carefully make floral designs. The cash was contributed by the committee members.
