The VHP has decided to bar Muslims from garba and dandiya events during Navratri across Maharashtra and issued guidelines for organisers, including Aadhaar checks and tilak. VHP spokesperson Shriraj Nair described the measures as precautionary steps to protect Hindu cultural traditions
Expressing displeasure over the city police not taking measures to stop non-Hindus from taking part in Dandiya, R Shashidhar warned that the police and the government would be responsible for any untoward incident during the festival.
