In a significant decision, the Congress government has merged 27 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) within the Outer Ring Road limits into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), increasing its wards from 150 to 177.
The eventful day comes after a delay of more than three months and multiple requests by the corporators. Multiple development works in the city were on hold due to the delay in the 2024-25 budget.
