Heavy rains in erstwhile Adilabad district for the second consecutive day brought copious inflows into major irrigation projects including Kaddam Narayana Reddy, Sripada Yellampalli, and Swarna, with several minor projects also receiving abundant water.
Over 30,000 acres of crops were damaged by torrential rains in Adilabad, Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts. Farmers growing paddy, cotton, soya, maize and pigeon pea suffered major losses and demanded Rs. 50,000 per acre compensation from the government
