Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior says 253 drug-addicted people in Herat have recovered after months of treatment and rejoined their families. The Taliban-led government continues its crackdown on narcotics, including recent seizures of opium, heroin, and methamphetamine across multiple provinces.
More than 900 individuals have completed drug rehabilitation programs in Afghanistan’s western provinces and rejoined their families, officials said. The Taliban-led interim government has ramped up anti-narcotic operations, arresting traffickers and seizing large quantities of opium in recent raids.

The Rashid Khan Foundation is also organising an urgent fundraising campaign to aid the victims of the Herat Earthquake in Afghanistan, which occurred on October 7.
