Hyderabad police have arrested M Lakshmikanth Reddy for allegedly obtaining multiple Indian passports under different names using forged residence certificates. The case, registered after a complaint from the US Consulate General, revealed passports issued in two names linked to the same individual.
The Enforcement Directorate is tracking seven Pakistani nationals who allegedly procured fake Indian passports via a Bengal racket. The key accused, Indu Bhusan Halder, worked with intermediary Azad Mullick to forge over 250 passports for foreign clients
During searches, the CBI seized cash amounting to more than Rs 46 lakh and a cache of forged documents used to get Indian passports, the officials said.
