Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Saturday.

The Uttar Pradesh govt has spent Rs 121 crores on land acquisition for the construction of the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi. Moreover, the BCCI will spend Rs 330 crores on the stadium's construction

The international cricket stadium, to be built in Ganjari, Rajatalab, will be developed in more than 30 acres of area at a cost of about Rs 450 crore.

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will lay the foundation stone in the next few months for constructing another international cricket stadium in the city on a sprawling 25 acre site, YSR Congress Party regional coordinator YV Subba Reddy said.
