The Junior Forest Officers Association condemned the attack on forest staff in Manuguru, alleging they were being victimised for performing their duties. Meanwhile, a forest beat officer was suspended and a three-member committee was formed to enquire into the incident.
The association also wanted the Chief Minister to direct the police department to cooperate with forest staff during eviction of illegal encroachment in the forest lands.
Minister appreciated the efforts of the forest officials in protecting and developing forests, and said the efforts of the field staff was yielding goods results at the ground level
