A Class 10 student, Tanusha Mahalakshmi, died by suicide at a Kasturba school in Suryapet district. With over 90 reported student deaths in Gurukul schools in 19 months, concerns over hostel safety and mental health are growing.
The girls sat on the road chanting "We want justice" and complained about finding worms in the rice and curries multiple times. Despite reporting the issue to officials, no action had been taken. They demanded the transfer of the officials responsible.
