The Green India Challenge (GIC) launched its eighth edition at Keesaragutta on Sunday, with founder and former MP J Santosh Kumar planting saplings. The initiative, which began seven years ago, has resulted in planting over 20 crore saplings across India.
Hectic activity is underway to complete arrangements including erection of pandals and providing basic amenities like drinking water for devotees at prominent Shiva temples in Keesaragutta and even at the Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada.
During a high-level review meeting on RTC performance, operations, and various schemes, Sajjanar emphasized the significance of the Kartika month and Sabarimala operations for the RTC. He instructed officials to take necessary measures to ensure that devotees experience no inconvenience.
