The BRS is set to hold a mini-plenary in Khammam on April 19 to strengthen its cadre base ahead of upcoming elections. The event, to be attended by senior leader T Harish Rao, is expected to boost morale and prepare party workers for challenges in the Khammam Municipal Corporation and ZPTC/MPTC elections.
The Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) faces uncertainty as its council’s tenure ends on May 7. Plans for early elections in February were stalled due to lack of preparedness and pending State government approval for increasing divisions from 60 to 70.
State Election Commissioner C Parthasarathi issued a notification for publication of voters list and identification of polling stations, besides instructing the officials to make necessary arrangements for holding the polls in a smooth manner.
