Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is facing mounting pressure from Telangana leaders to issue an unconditional apology for his controversial "evil eye" remarks. Threats of banning his films in Telangana and calls for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s response have intensified the political row.
Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy warned that Pawan Kalyan’s films would not be screened in Telangana unless he apologised for claiming the State had cast an “evil eye” on Konaseema’s development. The Minister said such remarks hurt Telangana’s sentiments.
Congress MLA J Anirudh Reddy has strongly criticised Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for alleging that Telangana’s “evil eye” hindered Konaseema’s development. Reddy demanded an unconditional apology, questioning why Kalyan continues to reside in Hyderabad if he believes Telangana is detrimental.
