Local contractors have opposed TGGENCO’s unified tender for ash lifting from four thermal power plants in Telangana, alleging that eligibility conditions favour large corporations. They demanded separate tenders or lots to enable local contractors to participate and protect livelihoods.

Due to increase in solar power generation during the day, the thermal plants have been back-down more in the State.

Due to the shutdown of the two plants, generation of about 1320 megawatts of power has stopped.
